in the past both men have been strong advocates of the nra. joining us tonight is josh horowitz, executive director of the coalition to stop gun violence and eric pratt, director of communications for gun owners of america. eric, let me start with you. what is your organization's response to the tragedy in connecticut? >> well, certainly our heart goes out to the families of the victims. i can definitely relate with what they're going through. i myself lost a child through a drowning accident and so i totally understand the angst and pain they're going through, but i would say what the senators are talking about and the politicians are talking about in going after the firearms and banning these or placing more restrictions is not going to make people more safe. in fact, what we have, we've tried this approach over and over. if you look over the last couple decades, almost all except for one of the mass murders that have occurred in this country, they've happened in these gun free zones because good people are scared to defend themselves. on th
